FINANCIAL STATE/SOCIAL SUPPORT FOR HOUSING
Yes, the flatmates can get an APL, an « allocation logement » (financial state/social support for housing) because every flatmates does undersign the flatsharing rental contract. Financial state/social support for housing, called in french « APL », or « Allocations Personnalisées pour le Logement, is granted by the « CAF » (Caisse d’Allocations Familiales).
The issue of APL is one of the first questions we get asked from almost all people interested in the flat
You can estimate yourself the amount of your allowance / financial support on the CAF website : www.caf.fr. In general, the amount of the state/social housing support is 80 to 170 euros, for similar apartments with similar rents .
As the owners, we don’t decide anything about the amount of the APL (financial support for housing), and we don’t know anything about the way it is calculated.
There is no black rental, no shadow or illegal flatmates.
